A little backstory on today's mail-call acquisition, starting with

Wednesday post of his handsome CruCarta PM2 which got me drooling, then searching, as that was not a version I was familiar with. It also got me to Knifecenter where I'd had $50 worth of Rewards sitting for quite a waiting for something to really tickle my fancy. The PM2 turned out to be it and I pulled the trigger the following morning. KC is great at getting orders out the door, it was on the way that afternoon, and at my PO first thing this morning.
Now normally I do a bit of research before buying a knife. I only skimmed a couple positive written reviews online beforehand, but did watch a couple vids on this version after ordering. I heard a bunch of whining about the compression lock cutout in the Micarta and wondered if I'd made a too hasty purchase, though I've become much more sanguine in the face of YouTube reviewers' negativity. Did I waste my accumulated KC bonus? Well, the proof would be in the pudding, so to speak, so I just chilled and waited for the knife, which, to cut to the chase, I am extremely pleased with.
So, today I carried my original PM2 with its aftermarket RGT fluted Ti scales--which brought a whole new appreciation of that one--in anticipation of the new arrival, while also handling my Kapara with its Nat Micarta Ripp's scales. That one's also a compression lock knife, having a similar cut-out that doesn't bother me a bit. Those scales, BTW, also made a huge positive difference in my opinion of the latter knife.
Anyway, here's all three on my tailgate in a light snow after adding a lanyard to the new PM2.
Here's my now-two PM2's...
...and here's the Kapara and the PM2 side by side with their similar, ever-so-slight cut-outs in the back of their Micarta scales to accommodate the slight over-travel needed to release their compression locks. This version of the PM2 has full liners like the Kapara. which I rather like, though I'm fine with the earlier, standard ParaMilitary configuration as well. All that whining was much ado about nothing.
