I was going to ask about your Kapara scales and blade, but did an internet search, as I often do before inquiring, and pretty quickly found what I assume is your knife at REK's Instagram. I was initially struck by the thumb ramp, as it does take a little extra articulation to access the Spydie hole, but all the mods are very nicely thought out and executed, right down to the tiny sharpening choil. Of course it's what I'd expect from your asks and Josh teaming up to improve your knife.
I've been really happy with how the Ripp's Garage Tech Nat Micarta scales have greatly improved my knife and they're very nicely done, but now I'm feeling just a little bit jealous.Nice mods, my friend.

Saw the DLT drop on those and almost pulled the trigger and I’m actually still tempted lol.
Love that one
EDIT: Had some DLT points so got a smoking deal couldn’t resist![]()
Agree and A lot of bang of the buck and I also love OD green and cruwear !IMO its a good value for a coated cruwear blade, especially considering a base vg10 version is almost the same price point. Also I’m a sucker for OD green! Looking forward to an endura version hopefully now that the delica and endela have been offered. Its in the pocket again today.

Took the kiddos to a trampoline park today.
I was just looking at an Exotac Fire Rod XL last night.Exotac nanostriker . The rod is exchangeble , just remove and insert a new one when the old wears out. But I added a Light my fire-rod today, it’s larger and easier to use. I will still bring the Exotac, and use the striker, which is better than the striker that came with the LMF, or the spine on any of my knives..
That is good story--thanks for sharing, Coleman. It's a cool thing when something someone else has customized that you particularly admire falls into your lap. My first Tabargan was like that--just gorgeous--anodized with custom marbled CF scales and backspacer. It was really too pretty perfect to carry and use and I stupidly let it go after a few years to fund something else. I'm glad for the other knife, but regret it to this day.Nice logo! You’ve been absolutely killing it, Travis!
This Kapara mod was done by Josh at REK, you are correct sir. However, I cannot take credit for this build. Even though it would be the little things I would ask for, I didn’t ask for this build.
The story behind this one though…that is a good one. This Kapara was commissioned byBilboBaggins . I had mentioned way back when (a number of years ago) that it was absolutely beautiful and if he ever let it go, I would be interested. He ended up pm-ing me a long while later. He was ready to pass it on to a new home.
I will never forget his kindness and have been hoping all is well as he hasn’t posted here in a while.
Thank you for the kind wordsChazzyP
How do you like that sheath for your Guardian 3?
Ofh.. checked the IG profile, and found a lot of new things I suddenly want, but don’t needI was just looking at an Exotac Fire Rod XL last night.
I also ordered one of these fire starters. I have the full size and it is great.

Similarly, the guy who bought my Tabargan also let it go, then spent considerable time and money custom replicating the knife he also missed. He finally got it done, but got jerked around so long by the notorious scale maker that he sold that one too to get the bad taste out of his mouth. Reads like the Cursed Tale of the Tabargan.
My handsomely enhanced Firetac came from an interim owner here who got it as is from AZCK. I'd seen and admired it here and grabbed it up off the Exchange when he put it up for sale. He soon regretted doing so, much like my earlier transaction, and wrote to let me know he'd buy it back any time. Sadly for him, I won't be repeating my earlier mistake.
Your mention ofBilboBaggins had me searching his posting history as I recall him, but haven't seen him around either. He seems a rather sporadic poster with large gaps in his history, so perhaps he can only take dealing with this bunch of Knife Knuts in small doses. I too hope he's OK.
Well, thanks and LOL right back at ya. In fairness, should I ever decide to move it (is there a not likely emoji?) we might have to arrange a steel cage match between you andWell, truth be told…I almost reached out to you about your firetac. Lol. It’s a beauty!

I suggested a thumb wrestling match when I was ooogling his python F3......& he said his son had dibsI’ll forfeit right off the hop. Haha. As much as I enjoy knives, I value friendships more. However…a thumb war I could get down with.
Thanks Coleman! Much appreciated!Nice logo! You’ve been absolutely killing it, Travis!
There’s a documentary about Robert Johnson on Netflix…definitely worth watchingThank you Sir!
