Like the Takamura R2. I have a 210mm also that I just used for dinner prep tonight.

My knife is also 210mm.
Fine. Cuts like a laser. Sharpens on ceramics smoothly, without surprises. Comfortable swing.
I wish the knife was heavier. But these are my wishes.

A quick little backstory on this one. UPS “lost” a package coming to me from Josh back in October, on my birthday. Haha. Josh had made me an absolutely incredible Ember 3.5 with museum grade Ironwood I had purchase. I was very disappointed as that package was valued over $3000!!

Rewind to about a year ago. Fixall had sent me a piece of museum grade Tiger Koa (my favorite wood) for a project I had been telling him about. Well, I couldn’t find the time to get into that project, and ended up selling the knife that the Koa was destined for.
I decided to send this beautiful piece of Tiger Koa to Josh REK Knives to have a replacement Ember 3.5 made, and boy oh boy…



Josh is wonderful to work with and all my requested little nuances he nailed perfectly.
Fixall the chatoyance in this piece of Koa is superb. Thank you so, so much.

I am very excited to build a sheath for this when time permits. Hope you all enjoy!
