It's Day Three with the new-to-me SERE 2K and I was doing a little tune-up and lube and getting ready to stash away the nice Al Mar box it came in. I looked under the foam layers to see if there was any paperwork hiding there and instead found a nice bright stainless clip and screws in a bag instead. I really kinda liked the blued clip that was on it despite its obvious wear, but figured I'd give the bright one a turn. I think it goes nicely with the typically molten luster of Seki City VG10 and matches the finish of th SS liners and butt spacer.

I've added a couple drops of TriFlow to the Teflon washers and my usual dab of FinishLine to the detent ball to get the action even smoother and freer than it was when I got it, though it was damn good to start with. I was able to tighten the pivot just a skosh after to push the blade more towards center, as it was just a tiny bit off, and thought I might do a scale shift too which would require a disassembly as the standoff screws are hidden behind the G10. Unfortuately, the liner screw sockets are smaller than my smallest 1.5 mm Wiha (1,5 in Euro parlance) and I ended up ordering a couple sets of mini shorthandled hex wrenches, adding a fractional set as well. In the meantime, the tabletop leverage method has gotten the blade all but perfectly centered anyway.

Such a fantastic knife!!!! It was the best production knife available for good while....Love my Vallottin conversion...Enjoy!!

I found myself wishing for an alox SAK to make it an all metal handle carry.
It is my weekend today! So not a lot of work, just around the property but I got my pocket protector anyways .. Framelock Friday with the Spyderco Cricket and Advocate... I forget which 84mm SAK this is, a Cadet or Soldier? Just has the blades, openers, then awl and Phillips head on the back. Been rotating it with an even lighter and smaller Wenger Delemont with corkscrew rather than screwdriver and I am digging on it.

The Cricket is thin and great for slicing and cutting through everything. Smooth opening steel framelock, and the Advocate is the only Ti Framelock I use, but I love it. Lean, mean M4 cutting mo-sheen.

I love how tough and reliable, thin, light and good looking the K55 Mercator and Douk Douk for that matter, are. I always carry one for the tough jobs and it keeps on trucking, and heck, one is a slipjoint!

Not usually a big Emerson guy but I love this type of clip, and the G10 works well with the design. Can I ask you the model?

Certain ones like this or the A-100 just prick up my visual interest. That and I found out the guy lives right by my childhood home which is pretty cool.
