That pretty much sums up the current situation re the round hole in a nut shell. 👍 There's some interesting quoted discussion on the subject here and the indication that there was once a patent, now expired.
Years ago, I actually found a .PDF ‘snapshot’ of the drawings and description page of one of Mr. Glesser’s earlier patent applications.
IIRC, that application covered both the Spidey hole specifically to facilitate one handed opening, as well as adding a pocket clip to keep the knife up out of the bottom of your pocket, and away from keys and change.
Pretty damn forward thinking application, I’d say … I think it was late 80’s …

Took me awhile to realize but one of these is all I need in a pocket knife.
I’m right there with ya brother. It took me a while to get there, but I have come to the conclusion that if I had to keep only one knife, it would be my small 21 Micarta Insingo.
Hopefully, I’ll never have to actually execute based on that realization …
😎

Awesome scales on the CRK. Thanks for sharing. The traditional is great also.
We have a WINNER!
Thank you very much gentlemen. Both are very special knives to me. That traditional 47 Viper was offered to me by a Bladeforums regular for a bargain and it’s a kind gesture I won’t soon forget. We have a great community here

This has been my EDC out in the property for the last couple weeks, doing repairs, improvements and routine yardening around the place, whenever I get a chance. Left to Right: Silky Saw Pocket Boy 170, Felco-2 Bypass Pruner, Joker Lynx, Morakniv Kansbol (currently having a well earned soak in Ballistol), Benchmade Griptilion, Spyderco Police 4 (K390 steel), Stanley Staple Gun (aluminum not plastic), and a pair of pigskin leather gloves. Below is a Silky Saw Big Boy 360. The Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack sling pack makes for a handy tool bag around the yard.

The pigskin leather gloves are pretty expensive, compared to most work gloves, but they're just so much better, in terms of fit and ability to manipulate objects when they're being worn. They're the same kind of gloves my dad often wore and wouldn't let his kids use, which I totally get now. I figure if I'm dropping a few hundred dollars on a knife, I shouldn't skimp on the gloves, but I do tend to watch for when they're on sale.

Celebrating 36 years of marriage tomorrow so I'm getting the chores done today. Cleaning brass and yard work. I enjoy the reloading but a cold one always helps with the trimming.

Haha......
When you posted this picture I was foolishly remembering that on My 10 year anniversary I decided to go to the rifle range with my buddies...... Not paying attention to the date you were posting.... :/

Even MORE foolishly, I forgot that then (the day you posted This picture) was actually MY wedding anniversary....... she reminded me the following day. I think it's the 22nd?

Yes, I'm in the doghouse.
