EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Thanks! It's at my wife's sister's house, and she lives only about a quarter of a mile away. She just bought her place too, and was lucky that the previous owners kept a large garden complete with many fruit trees. I'm charged with taking care of the trees, which is just fine with me ;) .

Seemingly in the blink of an eye the place went from this...

How very cool to be so close to her and to be in charge of the garden. That's awesome!

Been thinking about one of these, although it's smaller than I usually like.
How do you like yours?
Great reasoning for carrying a thinner knife! ;)

I own 5 or 6 Vipers and have found the build quality is always there. I’ve never been disappointed with any of them, and I like the Lille quite a bit….but then I tend to prefer smaller knives. I think this one’s a bit of a “niche” knife. It fills my needs as a daily carry, but I’m not a guy who works his knives all that hard. It’s comfortable in my hand and the jimping on the spine is well placed. The flipper tab works great for me, but if you’re used to larger knives or have big hands I could see it being awkward for a bit. Never tried using the cutout. At the end of the day I think it comes down to the blade and how you’re gonna use it. It’s a good slicer, skinner, etc but it wouldn’t be my first choice for breaking down boxes or heavy work (it’s a bit thick behind the edge). I see it more as a “gentleman’s” folder than anything else. Solid build, unique and (to my eye) pretty darn handsome.

Hope that helps. Lol, just keep in mind that I’m really not the guy to be doing any kind of knife review or critique….so take my words with a grain of salt.

I put yesterday's Fluted Ti Millie back with most of my other Spydies this morning and went into the top of my large drawer unit for a Wooden Wilson Wednesday carry with the WC/Fox ELC in Cocobolo. Instead, I was seduced by the display-box there containing my Sage collection. While I was tempted by the Arizona Ironwood Sage 4 and its Al Mar connection, it seemed a bit beefy for IWB carry as I was heading over to the home gym, so I went with the newer version of the Sage 6 for a LightWeight Wednesday instead.

Very late edit: I just realized I spaced out when posting the other day. This is the SAGE 5 LW. Duh.

As a side note, the Sage series pays homage to various locking systems and their innovators. While the primary reference for the Sage 4 is to Al Mar, not only for its front lock but for its elegant mating of stainless liners, titanium bolsters, and wooden scales, the front lock itself was developed by friends, co-workers, and fellow machinists Harvey McBurnette, Dick Dorough and W. T. Fuller as the last had lost a hand in an industrial accident and needed a knife that could be used with but one. Mar later popularized that design after having purchased one of WT's knives, the latter gentleman reportedly having borne no ill will for the former as he was proud to have the design copied and used.
