EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Hope "bad week" does not mean what I think it does. If it does, Tyson is watching over from above
Didn't realize I was being so cryptic. I had to make that hard choice this week. His health rapidly declined this month no matter what we did.

Thanks for looking out. He's been in so many photos over the years on this site had to share him again.

A good way for you to remember the size of the Spyderco Police model. Here is mine in K390 stretching across the letters of my full size keyboard.

Believe it or not though, this knife disappears in my front pocket. Forget I am carrying it sometimes.

Morning.

Woah! I like that Runt! Is it Aluminum Bronze? I've got one that I'm sporadically carrying. I put some Renwax on it to keep it shiny for now. Seems to be working so far. Time will tell I guess.
Yes, aluminum bronze. That usually means aluminum in a bronze color, but my Runt 5 weighs much more than aluminum, feels like solid brass or bronze. I was going to call ProTech today to try to find out what their aluminum bronze actually is. If you know, I would appreciate your understanding of it.

I've seen it referred to as Bronze anodized aluminum, and as Aluminum Bronze. I'm pretty sure it's the Aluminum Bronze .
My Aluminum Malibu weighs 3.02 oz, my Runt 5 is 3.7 oz, both Magnacut. Obviously the Malibu is a much larger knife, and the Runt handles are machined inside to reduce the weight, as opposed to the Malibu, which is not.

I found this on the web, but it doesn't speak to exactly what Pro-Tech uses.
Here's an excerpt:
"Aluminum bronze is a class of alloys that are generally composed of copper, between nine and 12% aluminum, and at most 6% iron and nickel. There are plenty of instrumental uses it has in the metalworking industry, but let’s take a look at some of the more important aluminum bronze properties first."

If you do call, please let us know what you find out.
