EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I've seen it referred to as Bronze anodized aluminum, and as Aluminum Bronze. I'm pretty sure it's the Aluminum Bronze .
My Aluminum Malibu weighs 3.02 oz, my Runt 5 is 3.7 oz, both Magnacut. Obviously the Malibu is a much larger knife, and the Runt handles are machined inside to reduce the weight, as opposed to the Malibu, which is not.

I found this on the web, but it doesn't speak to exactly what Pro-Tech uses.
Here's an excerpt:
"Aluminum bronze is a class of alloys that are generally composed of copper, between nine and 12% aluminum, and at most 6% iron and nickel. There are plenty of instrumental uses it has in the metalworking industry, but let’s take a look at some of the more important aluminum bronze properties first."

If you do call, please let us know what you find out.
Jennifer from Pro-Tech emailed me this.

Aluminum for strength and high corrosion resistance along with trace elements such as iron for added performance. Like other bronze alloys, AlBronze will develop a beautiful and one-of-a-kind patina and dark characteristic overtime due to the interaction with natural environmental acidities and the oxidation with the surface of bronze. If you want to prevent the nature of tarnishing bronze, please apply any high quality knife or gun lubrication, or a gentle application of wax regularly.

Thanks for posting this! As we suspected. I'm going to attempt to keep mine shiny. At least for awhile.
