At first I thought this was gonna be a post by Knives&Lint Knives&Lint . Cool colors. What's the bike?

Nice cat! Never considered fly fishing for catfish. Beadhead WB?

I kind of stumbled on it by accident, but over time have found ways to target them. Beadhead wooly bugger is correct, though about half the time I use a plain one for cats. Either way wooly buggers seem to be the most reliable fly for them here. These good sized ones (around 20-24") put up a very respectable fight. Was fishing a 7wt today with 8lb tippet.

Nice job! I haven't fly fished much lately due to shooting and surf fishing more but I found myself fishing more for bluegill and bass more than trout. A black, bead head WB or deer hair popper was the way to go. I loved seeing the water erupt when a fish rose to take my offering off of the surface. I need to get back out and scratch that itch.

There is one trout stream about 1.5 hours away from here, but it's only really fishable from about October to April or May. So for the rest of the year bass, bluegill, and catfish are my main pursuit, unless I take a trip out West. All are very respectable in their own right.

Today had the right conditions for catfish on the fly. It's not the most effective way to catch them but loads of fun when it works. It's also a lot of work, with lots of casting and thrashing through brush to get to the right spot to wade out to get to where they are. M390 Para 3 was along for this adventure.

Only time I caught catfish on an a fluid was one setup with monofilament for use on crappie in partially submerged tree tops.
Carbon Fiber FriMonday, back at the grind starting night one of fourteen...grabbed this old school Beretta/Warren Thomas Avenger II for the shift😎

Bluegill have always been my flyfishing target. Gone on one dedicated small mouth trip. Those are fun on a 9wt.
