Yes it is a great song.

My favorite childhood memories of my grandpa involve an old rod, a big hunk of frozen beef liver to carve off bait from, and a floating dock in his large pond, and pulling out all the catfish we could ever want! Really was heaven.

We used chicken liver or night crawlers. Several people around had fishing ponds that were stocked primarily with catfish but also had bluegills.

Yea, we pulled out tons of bluegills as well from the various ponds/lakes/rivers. Most of em got tossed back, but they sure put up a great fight!
