EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I stopped by Kasumi and picked up the orderfix.

Gorgeous animal! Blade from VG-10 at 60-61. 120*4 mm.
Micarta handle. I haven't seen such beautiful micarta for a long time. Like on Streetbeat from Spyderco, or on the old Al Mars. It plays and shimmers in the sun.

The first thing I did was send him to the kitchen.

Out of the box, the knife shaved my forearm quite mediocre.
But he cut everything very adequately.

I thought there would be problems with ergonomics due to the finger grooves, but no. The hand didn't tense up at all.
In general, I like it. :)

Absolutely!!!!! Worst design as far as sight lines......At least most don't use that damn Bobcat control style!!!!! Hated doing the bucket with my feet..... Felt damn weird even after years still weird!😉
I am still a fan of the foot controls on my skid steer, but mostly because that is what I grew up using so it just feels natural to me.
I tried going back for a week but just deleted it from my phone. Way to0 " social" for me. Like you guys, everyone knows what I carry.
It took a while, but I went ahead and took the time to delete my old attachments so I could continue to participate in the forum. Part of the reason I enjoy BF and participate is the ease of posting. I have no desire to use a 3rd party app or webpage in order to upload pictures. It sucks to lose the old pictures in the threads they were in, so hopefully storage increases in the future. I believe it will, even if we have to pay more for it.

Until then, todays carry:

I stayed in the CRK side of the American mid-tech drawer and chose something appropriate and a little dressier to accompany my wife for her medical appointment up-Cape. She's always along for mine and she rarely has any so I went along with her as she visited my orthopedic surgeon for her recently balky knee.

I'd been wanting another Dama knife a while back when I picked this up as I'd sold off my only one, a lionSTEEL TiSpine which was a beautiful piece but a bad fit for my hand. That one had Chad Nichols Fade Damascus which was some of the nicest I've ever seen and the Nichols Boomerang on this one is pretty sweet too. Several here have said--and I agree--that for CRK's, their Dama blades look best with a Plain Jane handles. That may seem a bit incongruous, but the Plain and Fancy thing really does work well.

I mentioned yesterday that I hadn't installed a Jekyll to Hyde butt spacer/lanyard attachment to my StarTac as I'm pleased with the Norvox Mod on that one, but this large 31 PJ has one of my three of Bill's and I like what it does for the knife a lot.

That tab is a guard, not a flipper tab. When using the PITS hard, the guard make sure the blade can’t accidentally close on your finger. Mike Read added it for good reasons. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t modify it to your heart’s content. 👍
Oh I’m quite aware that it is a guard. I maybe shouldn’t have said pointless. I’ll tell ya though…if you are hard using this slipjoint and it closes, that tab/guard is gonna pinch you something fierce. Believe that. 😁

I wish I bought an original Read back when. Still looking. :)
