Oh I’m quite aware that it is a guard. I maybe shouldn’t have said pointless. I’ll tell ya though…if you are hard using this slipjoint and it closes, that tab/guard is gonna pinch you something fiery. Believe that.

I wish I bought an original Read back when. Still looking.

Oh yeah. Sorry about that. The new design is said to be based on Read’s The Alien prototype. There is a video on YouTube which will give you some idea of what’s to come.
