EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Ssshhhh…close your eyes, can you see it? Yes yes its a Large Sebenza 21 Insingo!

For those youngsters amoung us, this is called using your imagination! Its what we did when there were only 3 TV channels, the internet hadn’t been invented by Al Gore yet and phones were hooked to the kitchen wall!

They were quite often in the kitchen. I remember that.

I lay on the bed, read a book, and didn’t touch anyone. Then the wife came in and said that she wanted fried potatoes with lard and onions. And pickled cucumbers. I cook this dish in our family. Actually, she’s the one who’s so capricious. :)
I'm going out tonight for my old friend's birthday. He and I used to work on archaeological expeditions. And the wife will have to walk the dog alone and pick up her daughter from additional robotics classes. ;)
I had to get up and go to the kitchen. Then everything follows the standard scheme.
Peel the potatoes.

Chop the lard and put it in a frying pan.

Cut the potatoes and place them on top of the lard and the resulting fat.

After some time, chop and add the onion.

Add salt at the very end. :)

Beautiful leather work!!!!👌

Man if you ever think about selling that GEC, I sure would love a chance to grab it! It seems like it's one of your favorites though. However if you ever do decide to get rid of it please let me know. 🙏🍻
I doubt it will be going anywhere anytime soon, but I’ll keep you in mind if I ever do decide to let it go.

Swapping it up a little today. Still carrying the GEC 98, but It needs some maintenance today. Some rust developing from the heat and humidity in my pocket all week. The Sebenza I was carrying all week also had some issues. The wood scales developed a noticeable hump in them from all the moisture. From the contour, it really looks like the adhesive under the middle may have come loose. They are still tight, and look a little better today than yesterday. Swapping it out for the iMamba to see how the wood recovers.

Looks phantastic ! Always enjoy your photos, that fixed blade. and the potatoes look tasty ...

I lay on the bed, read a book, and didn’t touch anyone.

Hopefully the situation improved after dinner ! :)

Awesome pair..... Both highly under represented...... Top notch blades!!👍

Thank you, J. I missed out on the Fantoni before they closed up shop. This is a great Harsey design executed well by Fantoni. This one holds a special place in my heart, as it was a gift from a very good friend and showed up unexpectedly!

Slow day today with the cooler weather but the North Arm came in handy for a couple of fish tacos.

Those fish look surprised. Haha!
