Few years back I arced the spine of the blade on accident. Left a pretty cool looking mark on it. Time went by and I was digging in some spray foam and the tipped snapped off. Wasn’t doing anything that should’ve caused it. Only thing we could figure is that the blade weakened when it arced. Really didn’t know what to do with it so a friend here got me hooked up with a good craftsman who turned it in to a razelDo you have a story of how you broke the blade on your CRK posted up anywhere? It would be interesting to hear about.
We've had a lot going on and I haven't been keeping up very well with following BF, taking knife pics, or posting as we're trying to wrap up some stuff around here and prepare for our first sojourn in Vermont in far too long. Unfortunately, this will be more than a pleasure trip to enjoy the peace and beauty of our hilly retreat. We have to meet with our forester ahead of his stump cruise as we've suffered a significant logging trespass on our lower 27 acres. I've been busy prepping for that meeting, and, for some weeks, having conversations, researching surveys, town records, and the very specific state statutes regarding such offenses as I build my case for settlements with our new neighbor and her logger. We've still got a ways to go before I sit down separately with those two parties.
Anyway, yesterday I took some time to relax and spent the day watching NBA playoff games and doing the Sunday crossword with one of my favorite knives that doesn't get used hard.

Today it was errands and back to work on my saws, with great success getting my old standby 49SP cleaned up, tuned, and ready to go. I've found a product that will supposedly get my CS2258 running without tearing down the carb and it's hopefully working its magic overnight while I write. My companion work knife was an old favorite that was an early reclamation project for me that has served me well for a lotta years, pictured here with its little sidekick that stayed in the drawer today.

Looks like a great way to start a trip. If the rest of the trip equals the start it should be great. Looking forward to more photosStarting a camping/hiking trip. Camped tonight at a spot that is overrun in the summer. Tonight I have this campground all to myself. Blade is my favorite small Sebenza with black micarta and magnacut. It's going to see some cool stuff if all goes well.
