I have been more active in the traditional knife scene, but decided to get a large modern folder. My choice was the Spyderco Military 2. I have had the original Millie and frankly did not like it that much, apart from the ergonomics and blade, but I dislike liner locks. This is in the whole other ball park. This feels heavier, but not too much. It has a certain finesse, the compression lock works like a clockwork. The knife has a brutal beauty in it. I thought about getting Cold Steel, maybe 4 inch Talwar that I have handled, but this is most certainly a better knife for me. I don't like clips in general and this is no exception, I wonder if there is a deep carry clip that would not be a hot spot in use? So I will remove the original clip and make a pocket/belt sheath. Also for legal and other reasons I don't carry a knife that is at all visible.

I just returned from Tennessee a week ago. I usually go down every couple of months. A phone call yesterday evening from my friend/neighbor/caretaker has necessitated a return trip. Made it to Bowling Green Kentucky tonight. Hotel snack:
