Thanks! The cocktail was an act of desperation. 😅 It was Old Fashions beforehand. I do love my Medfords. I have three all of the same laurel leaf filigree design but in different models (also a Slim Midi and Praetorian Slim) because I love it so much. Sometimes I’m in the mood for something slender and light, and sometimes I want something chonky with some heft to it.
 
Our middle son, wife, and grandson left today and are in the air on their way back to California as I write. It was great to have them here, staying with us for a week, but it's also nice to have some peace and quiet and our house back to ourselves. The almost five-year-old is a joy, but it's been a loooong time since we had little kids here and it brought back memories of how unrelenting raising three boys was. All good and a great visit for sure, though.

I spent a quiet afternoon catching up at BF (still got a ways to go), reading, doing a crossword, and spinning some vinyl. Later I wandered around the property and got these pics of my Biryukov #9 after moving my truck back to its spot following a thorough wash yesterday in the company of the little guy.

We have a bday party at my house today. 15 kids plus 6 “adults” (and I use that term loosely). I ran out a little while ago whilst everyone was still asleep to get donuts , muffins and coffee for the gang. And lots of ice for later. When I got back a few minutes ago , everyone was up. Kids all balled up on the couch on their iPads , birthday girl making a bday music playlist for the party (btw , I absolutely HATE the music of today’s youth). My wife is inhaling her coffee hoping the caffeine takes effect before her child-induced headache does. And the dog is in his spot by the slider glaring at me , giving me a look that clearly says “Remember when it was just you and me. No wife. No kids. And we had the house to ourselves?” Yes , Tyson , I remember. Siiiiiiiiigh …..I remember. Enjoy your Sunday , everyone.
