We're back from our week's stay in our Vermont woodland, arriving home yesterday around 9ish that evening after experiencing a bit of car trouble that thankfully resolved itself (stuck brake). We had a good stay and accomplished a number of things, but had a couple hot, sweaty days trekking through the woods to re-flag the lower half of our eastern bound and searching for the pin in the middle of the creek that defines most of our northern line, marking the point where our bound diverges from it for its last 400 feet to the east. There's a logger clear-cutting his newly bought parcel to our north and after the timber trespass to the other side of our land we want to make sure we don't suffer something similar along that side.
As usual, with little cell signal up there and no other online access I didn't bother much with knife pics or try to post during our stay. Again, I just took a few knives, some basic knife tools, and my SharpMaker. I did get the 8 crappy steak knives from our kitchen block at camp sharpened up enough so we wouldn't have to wear through our NY strips to be able to eat them.
I carried my PJ AB iMamba up and on the second day did manage some pics on the wood shed roof...
...and near the bottom of the couple steps to our small front deck.
Days 3 and 4 had me carrying my BMK AFCK 1101, but the pics I got in the woods were dark, green, unattractive, and deleted. Days 5 and 6 had me carrying one of my usual woods knives, the bright orange FRN Endura without any attempt at photography. For the trip back to the Cape and today I've been pocketing the CruCarta Military 2 and got some snapped here on what our California grandson dubbed Stump #1 when he, or son, and wife visited last month.
Our camp did manage to attract at least 4 different Luna Moths who remained during our stay, slowly working their way up and down our walls and screen doors on both sides near the porch lights for their sadly brief week-long lives.
