EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

How are you liking that Amphibian??? Compared to your fave Em commander???😉....
Similar but not..... Is what I'm seeing🤔....Tanx!😉👍

I’ve been using that Amphibian like I hate it for a couple months now. I absolutely love it. I got rid of the thumb stud and dropped the secondary angle to about 32 degrees inclusive - it’s a cutting machine. Two nitpicks- the bearings get clogged with dirt fast, the body screws came with strong loctite ( I broke 2 hex wrenches trying to take the knife apart ). That particular batch of Amphibians ( April 2024 ) has no lock slip issues.

The Commander - never gets clogged with dirt, easily sharpened, better handle for big hands, better stock thickness for cutting.

If forced to choose between amphibian or Commander - Commander would be my choice.

I love a good recurve

The Commander is a good looking knife. Is Emerson out of business?

You do good work. Your conductors are well labeled and your gutters are always clean and neat and the load looks well balanced. I wish I could get all sparkies to do this kind of work. Cheers brother 🍻
Been following him for years and all of his work is consistently like this🤗.
I really like that fixed blade. What is it?
It’s a Pronghorn Sheepsfoot EDC by Josh Mazer, navman navman here on forums😉. He makes an excellent blade🤔

I love slim flippers like that. What's the make & model?
The knife is a Cheburkov Leader Lightweight, made in Pavlovo, Russia. It's a really interesting piece with the unusual, though not unique, feature of being a linerless liner-lock, with the handle supported only by its two very nice CF slabs and the lock-bar retained by two screws into its threaded holes with their exterior heads obscured beneath the clip. That bar also had a corner tucked under the original back-spacer, but I followed the lead of our friend Wasatch11253 Wasatch11253 and removed it as its back through-pin, anchored by an opposite side screw attaching the clip, is shouldered and holds the everything together and properly spaced there. That removal reduced the weight of this already light, full 4"-bladed knife to a ridiculous 3.25 oz.

This one is definitely one of my very favorite knives and you've just gotten me to carry it again today.
