As I put away yesterday's CruCarta M2 I thought I'd shift right over to my CC PM2 but, thinking of the Manix2 version of that configuration I almost bought earlier in the month I grabbed my Manix XL instead. This was my first Spydie up a grade from the Tenacious and one that took me a long time to break in. I've had it for years but hardly ever carry it, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. I like that it's big, that its broad leaf-shaped blade is a wicked slicey, and that its generous handle with its downturned butt and jumping really locks into my hand. It was pretty stiff when I got it out as it had sat unused for some time. I loosened the pivot a taste and added a couple drops of W5 NanoOil to the washers. That loosened things up after a few cycles and I was able to re-tighten the pivot to take out any blade play.

This one is so broad that it's hard to take a pic that doesn't make it look short and squat, like this.
