Got my mini Dejavoo, which I've been feverishly flicking for days now at my computer, and carrying quite a bit. As well as the Kershaw Avalanche. When I first got interested in getting back into knives the other year, the only folders I had were this Kershaw Avalanche and an OD1 (I did have some more at my parents house, however only a handful of real quality ones) All the rest of the awesome knives that I used to own during my last decade long knife obsession I unfortunately sold. I carried this Kershaw Avalanche for a year and a half every day straight before I caught the knife bug again and went crazy. That said, this Avalanche is one of those dang near "perfect" knives for me. I've only come across a handful of basically "perfect" folders in all my knife years, it's the perfect size, perfect shape, good steel, great old school US made Kershaw quality, I just wish that it wasn't assisted. I've been meaning to have someone drill a detent hole in the blade so that I can take out the spring. Someday here I'll happen into someone who can do it for a decent fee.

We have our son and his GF here from RI this weekend along with their miniature dachshund and it's nice for us to see those two. For our oversized Siberian cat and their dog, well not so much. K & M have gone out quite a bit while here, catching up with friends and other family as they both grew up on Cape and we've looked after their pooch, causing the cat to be locked in our BR so he wouldn't open the smaller dog up. Things were better this evening with all of us here together and the cat had by then learned to sequester himself on the stairs or on top of one of the tall LR cabinets in order to avoid further confinement.

Knifewise I went with another BMK today, pocketing the 551-1 heading over to the wood shop for a bit in the afternoon to search for hardware and figure out the bores for mounting the the awning brackets I'll install next week.

When the Griptilian -1 series first came out, I very much liked their G10 scales and the more advanced steel selection but was not initially taken with the whole gray over blue color scheme. I did buy my wife a 550-1 and came to like it more and more as she carried and used it. When I gifted my 551-1701 to a buddy, I filled that void with this one, even following the color way with the lanyard and bead.

Sounds like a great weekend, even if your kitty wanted to make a chew toy out of the pup

WTG Lynx, the edc fixed blade I searched for. Very comfy in hand, short handle gives 4 finger grip but larger hands might need more support. Convex edge, easy to tune by stropping. The wide blade gives a good finger guard. Blade shape looks very usefull, time and use will tell.

Best factory kydex sheath so far. Knife locks in two places in sheath, no rattle no matter how hard I shake, but breaks out easily by pushing with thumb. Sheath is a bit large, more minimal design might work better in edc role.

Fit and finish is perfect, smooth and even. Spine is sharp and should throw sparks well if that matters to you. Price/quality ratio 10/10.
