EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

You know, after I saw the lead in my pic I thought I should have taken some pics of the big guy. I did a search here and found one I posted just about 3 years back. We were dog people for a lotta years--we had 8 altogether and 4 at once for some time, but overlapped our first cat for some years with our last dog. Willey is our third and we've had him for over 10 years.

Haven’t been posting much lately. I just deleted about nine paragraphs explaining why that is when it occurred to me that it was gonna take another 30-40 paragraphs to bring the narrative full circle. Sure, it was a gripping tale riddled with suspense, intrigue and some balls-out wicked humor…..but I decided to spare you guys.

Your welcome.

Anyway, for the past 2 days this small Gryphon from Larevo Knives has had my back.

I kind of still want to read the story....
Loved your response, @Chronovore ….gave me a good chuckle. Lol, I’ll see if I can condense my tale down to a few paragraphs for tomorrow’s post. The story does feature a dog and a knife collection, so it’s not too far off topic for the thread.

Have a great evening!
Now I really want to read the story!!!

Way to hook us in!

Pictures? I am considering that exact knife; keep us posted on what you think of it!

Stiff out of the box, played with it a bit without seeing much improvement before installing the Skiff bearings. That and a touch of knife butter and now the blade swings so freely that when opening the shark lock with the closed knife held tip up from about 30 degrees this could be mistaken for an assisted opener. It's that smooth and fast. Excellent lockup with virtually no play in any direction. Acceptable construction tolerances and easy disassembly for customization. Not as ergo as the Para 3 - the corners of the oem G10 could use a little more radius and if you have larger hands measured across the knuckles this won't necessarily be the most comfortable knife you've used - but the skinny form factor allows me to carry this in the pocket of my Dickie's carpenter pants and still put my hands in my pockets. Paramilitary 2 and Giant Mouse Jagt (both otherwise excellent) are examples of folders that are a little large for comfortable EDC for me. While I'm not a big fan of spring locks for heavy duty or backcountry use this is certainly better than the axis lock and a fine medium duty EDC. And SUPER fun as a fiddler/flipper if that appeals. As equipped I'd call this a keeper.
