Ah, I'd love to make it out there at some point. I think it's about 10 hours from here by car. There's so much to explore here in Washington though that I'm never at a loss for amazing places to roam. This was out on Mt. Rainier, about 45min from our pad. That's the peak of Rainier in the first pics, but it's a bit hard to distinguish from so close.

Coincidently, that is a glacier in the last few pics. It's really hard to capture the scale in photos. For instance what looks like a little stream was raging pretty heavy and too wide in those conditions to risk crossing (we probably could have made it but decided against it). There was a log bridge but it was removed for repair by the park service at the time. On the other side was a glacial pool so bold in turquoise color that it would put those scales to shame. We'll get there next time, but that may be next year at this point given the shortening season.
