I was also gifted these 2 randall knives. How do I clean these up? View attachment 2804748

Evaporust will clean up the blades of they have scale or rust.

Brass, depending on the level of verdigris, you might be able to polish it off by hand.

Worst case scenario, you might have to sand it with 1500 grit (wet and dry) sandpaper. If you don't have a bench grinder with polishing wheel, you can use a dremel. Use a a polishing wheel and some good metal polish.

Try some saddle soap on the leather, that might wipe off. If not, try the 1500 grit paper lightly. Then use some bees wax leather conditioner.

Last week I misplaced my Medford Slim Midi, and so I got out my Benchmade AFCK and I've been carrying it for the past few days. I have to say it's just about a perfect folding knife, a little long perhaps, but the overall feel is nearly perfect. And as far as I know this is about the fortieth blade I've had in it. It carries nicely.

Dremel tool.....No, no, no.....The metal will clean up nicely with bit of Simichrome polish, no need to use abrasives or power tools. Its just a bit of verdigris on the surface that will come right off. The leather just need a bit of leather conditioner. I'd use a bit of lemon oil on the handle.

The dremel is for polishing "if" needed, not for sanding. I use mine, along with a good polish like Quick-Glo.

You have to use a light touch and not stop in one spot. Then finish up by hand, when all the rough spots are gone.

Thanks brother!!

Here's an EK knife I picked up, it had rust spots and I think paint on it, possibly other crap.

I soaked the blade in a glass filled with Evaporust, just under the factory logo. Then turned it upside down to get the back half.

After getting the rest off with a Q-tip, I polished the blade with my dremel and Quick-Glo.

I like the jimpping on top of the handle near the pivot .

It has the mandatory bottle opener that ALL GREAT KNIVES MUST HAVE ! 😆

OK NOW THAT I WATCHED THE VIDEO, THAT IS A SUPER COOL / GREAT KNIFE AND MOST ALL OF MY KNIVES NOW SUCK .
