Is it right on the deck or do you have a fireproof mat under it? Love the design but worried about cleanup![]()
Love the solo stove
Welcome to the world of PNW boots! I work in a pair of 10” loggers. When I first got them, they made my Red Wings feel like ballet slippers (I’m imagining that partTrying to get some mowing done before baseball tournament this weekend. View attachment 2852595 Also trying to break in some new Nicks boots. Both pair showed up after about a six month wait. One Wellington and one moc toe wedge. These are my first dives into PNW boots and man this is some stiff leather and builds. You can really see the craftsmanship and quality in them. Break in is gonna be pretty rough but no doubt they’ll last a very long time

Right on the deck. It comes with a metal base that gives 5 cm (2 inches?) clearance between the bottom and the deck. Tried it in the winter, it didn’t even melt the snow beneath it a little bit. We have also tried putting some newspaper under it, just to see if it would catch fire, and after 1 hour it was completely cool. You can place it on completely dry, yellow grass and it’s no problemIs it right on the deck or do you have a fireproof mat under it? Love the design but worried about cleanup
Thanks for your thoughts on these, wanted to get some input from an actual user before making the jump into smokeless fire enjoymentRight on the deck. On version 1 you have to turn it upside down to get the ashes out. This version, 2.0, has a removable ash lid in the bottom, so it’s easy to lift it up and empty it.
Yeah, I've always liked them since I first saw them, and always admired yours. It is in BG-42! Which is pretty sweet. This particular one has some pretty heinous lockstick, which sucks, it's also missing the lower bolster screw on the clip side, however I got it real cheap. I know people shiver at the thought of it, however I'm thinking about taking it apart and lightly polishing the lockbar with a fine Sharpmaker rod, as the lockup is also extremely early. I wouldn't have ever considered doing that, but I've seen the guys at Chris Reeve doing it in a real early video where they used them to hand fit the lockbar to the blade on the Sebenza 21.Does yours have a Bg-42 blade? These stand up to the test of time wellView attachment 2852886

I love that hand filling beast of a folder. I just wish it was a bit easier to open. That's why it doesn't get more pocket time.
Setting up.
