Dave, it was a one day boil.
Once ya start, ya can’t stop. had it all jarred up by 4:00pm. Man, does it ever smell good! Taste’s great…a nice dark amber color and very sweet.

The grandkids are showing up around 11 this morning, get a little quiet time before the big hunt. Rained yesterday morning so things have dried out for today’s fun. In staying with the theme using my bunny knife for opening those tough plastic eggs

Our grandkids are scattered all over the country, and a few of them have little ones of their own. I got this sharpmaker rod holder in the other day. Direct from Croatia! I actually didn't realize it was from there at first, but shipping was only 10 bucks. But basically it just gives you more angle choices. The rods fit in nicely, about like the original, and it has little rubber feet on the bottom to keep from sliding around. Then I had the idea to look for some tiny bubble levels to help in making sure that I'm holding the knife straight up and down while using the Sharpmaker. I always feel like I slightly rotate my wrist when alternating between the two rods, might be only me that does that, but anyway I'll see if it's something that helps. I'll have to use a tiny spot of double sided tape to attach it to the chosen blade temporarily, it'd be better if I got a magnet strip and cut it up to fit under the level, it has a little bevel to fit such a thing.
