I know at night when it’s time to sleep my brain won’t shut down most times the gears keep turning . Not sure if it’s a form of anxiety but it sucks. Fortunately now I’m retired so if I’m up all night it doesn’t matter and I don’t have to wake up at 5:30am anymore regardless. Before it was like 3 days of no sleep and working and then so exhausted I’d have a good nights sleep but then the cycle would start all over again. But now I also can have a drink or two at night which helps me calm down a little .
 
Okay, ever since my last post in this thread on Sept. 3. I said the heck with all my cheap knives. What I usually carry at home or working on the farm.

You know so I won’t put a mark on my nice expensive knives:)

I’m 54 yo and looking at retiring in 6 years. I thought to myself it is time to start using these nice things.

So these two folders are definitely in my top 10 to keep. My self-imposed retired folder limit. That only means I must sell one of the 10 to buy a new folder so can always upgrade.

These two are the only folders I have carried since that post.

I havent babied them one bit. The CRK I have even cut about 20” or so of fiberglass that was lying on the ground. I literally cut into the ground about an inch deep for 20” length.

I’ve dropped the RHK twice on concrete and didn’t even look at it before putting back in pocket.

I know not that extreme but something that would have been reserved for my cheap folders non the less. Lots of other similar tasks around the farm and home.

Surprisingly very few marks on the knives. I haven’t even tried cleaning them any.

But yeah I’m done babying my expensive knives.

I’m to the point that I keep eyeing my cabinet of knives looking to pick keeper number 3.IMG_4654.jpeg

That’s about when I retired a couple of years ago and loving every minute of it 👍🏻👊🏻🙌
