EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Carrying this one again today...

I set the Rukus aside in favor of a usual work user as we headed up to the next town to help out our on-Caoe son, replacing the battery in his old Crown Vic while he's busy working The car's on its last legs, but he's trying to keep it running long enough to put together a down for something newer.

I set aside the Rukus not because it's new to me and it's certainly a beefy, hard-use knife, but it's actually kinda too big to be the sort of work user that I find useful for carpentry or the odd job like today's. I'm sure the Rukus will find plenty of use when doing more outdoorsy stuff like cutting firewood or working around camp up north or in the yard here. It'll make a good shock and awe EDC carry too.

This CRK 21 Insingo has seen plenty of job site action and seemed just right for the tasks at hand.

Thanks, it’s tiger maple which is very hard wood, I carefully flattened the sides so that the handle doesn’t roll in your hand when using
G2

You did the facets? Very clean indeed. I'd be tempted to stain the handle with some leather dye and linseed oil for the final touch.

Hope you keep that one, it's a goodie.

ChazzyP ChazzyP we need some YouTube videos of those knots please.
Me doing YouTube vids? Not so sure about that, my friend. What I can do is turn you on to a guy I like and have learned several knots from who goes by Weavers of Eternity on his channel.

I have posted a couple step-by-step instructional over at the Official Lanyard Thread. Here's a link to how I tie Snake Knots, which are what's on the CRK I posted today. I've seen several vids by guys using the Tibetan method which they claim is easier, but seems more involved to me. One thing you see on a lot of vids is people tying paracord unattached to anything. It's a lot harder to tie knots with several ounces of knife hanging off your cord, and I think a knife knut's method should take that into account. I like to tie my tails on the knife instead of making them alone with a loop and then feeding that through the lanyard hole, which just looks cleaner to me.

Our BF friend Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley is a frequent contributor over at the Lanyard Thread, does nice work, and you can find his vids on sheath work and knot tying searching YouTube.
