EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Checking out new AWT scales on the Native Salt. They add 0.5 oz, making the total weight an even 3 oz, but I like them much better than the bright yella ones.

Excellent!!! My AWT for the N5 were aupposed to arrive today. Looks like a delayed delivery now.
How are the ergos? I’m a huge fan of AWT scales, which says a lot as I generally dislike alum scales.

You’re NS looks great!

That's crazy those Ti screws failed so easy, I've never used them before. I always liked the looks of copper Hinderer screws, but those are probably super easy to strip too.

I hadn't heard of Fix-It Sticks until your post. A mini torque wrench, that's cool! How many in-lbs do you normally torque your knife screws to? 15 in-lbs? That's the lowest setting I saw on the few that came up in my quick search.
Crazy, yes. I’ve changed a ton of knife hardware and it rarely happens, in my experience. My theory is that the after market backspacer holes don’t match the precise tolerances that Oz is known for. Maybe the screws themselves were a bad batch. IDK.

I have great respect for the maker’s quality and the seller from which I bought the knife. Sometimes the stars just don’t line up. Today, I’m throwing the stock backspacer and hardware back on.

The Fix-It Stick Torque Set that I have has a range of 0 to 65 in/lbs. My plan was to torque the body screws to 5 in/lbs and the pivot to 7. I would then back the pivot off slightly for desired action. AI suggested as much.

Well, screw AI !!! I searched again just now and found that Oz does not recommend a specific torque setting. 🤣🤣😂 Anyways, I strongly recommend Oz Machine Company knives and Fix-It Sticks….just not AI search results.

Have a fine day brother. Wish me luck getting the Rosie right. 👍🏼

The size & ergos are roughly the same, but....... different. I like it. I've grown very fond of the big, fat, comfortable handles on the Buck 112s, but this is still pretty comfortable in use. It's much easier going into & out of the pocket.

Amazing tools and sweet knife! My thoughts on the current state of AI are summed up by Thomas Sowell - “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” I only trust the current LLMs on things that are unimportant that I don't care about. That rules out knives. :)
