EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

What Spyderco is that? I like it.
That is the Mantra 2 in stock configuration except I added that cheap clamp-on thumbstud. The detent was a bit too light for my liking, so I added a bit of lockbar pressure and the thumbstuds (I just like having thumbstuds and multiple opening options).

Then the black one is the PMS with Rockscale Ti scales.

Could you please recommend a small, bright flashlight for under $40? I want to give my girlfriend a gift. I need something small and lightweight.

I bought a cheap Sofirn SC13, but it had a problem: when unplugged, it would lose voltage. At first, I thought the battery was the problem, but testing showed otherwise. I charged the battery, and a multimeter showed ~4.2V. After eight days of sitting on a shelf, the voltage dropped to 4.1V. But then I put the battery back in the flashlight and left it for a while. Over four days, its voltage dropped from 4.2V to 3.7V, indicating leakage current. It's a defective product, bad luck. I'll try returning it to the store.

But I still need a flashlight. Any advice would be appreciated.
I really like my Manker E02 II, which I carry and use every work day. The AAA battery I use lasts a long time with how I use it (and I use it on medium settings). They also make the E03 III which is basically the same thing except scaled up a little bit to where it takes an AA sized battery. Both are right angle flashlights (they sell non 90 degree flashlights as well) and both are able to take standard AA/AAA, lithium ion batteries, or NIMH batteries.

Previous to that I carried a Reylight Pineapple Mini. I like both, but the Manker is a lot smaller and works better for me. I clip it to the front of my sweatshirt while I'm working and the light follows generally the direction that my eyes are pointed.

Reylight mini pineapple (in aluminum to hit your budget), Thrunite Archer mini, Olight i3t. These are all slim light EDC sized torches, affordable, and can be found on Amazon.

The Reylight is the nicest with the most features. The Archer mini is a good value and pretty bright for the compact size. The battery isn't replaceable like the other two but mine is going on 3 years now. The i3t is a solid popular choice and does the job. Ive listed in order of personal preference after using all 3 although there are plenty more options available also.

Ok, so this is (I think) the 4th Presidio 2 I’ve had… just such a good nothin’ fancy all-arounder that I truly miss as soon as I don’t have one anymore, such as recently when I saw this one on the Exchange. Maybe I’ll come to my senses and keep this one instead of punishing myself over and over.

I dig that mantra 2 allot. I'll be looking around soon
