EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Afternoon guys!

After Z Zeroedin and I got done falling all over each other with knife compliments yesterday, I figured I'd carry the knife of mine that he mentioned today. It shares a double-sided, blue leather pouch with another of my four SHF's and they share the distinction of being the two engraved models of those I have. I'd be hard pressed to pick one I favor over the other, so I had both my Northwest Coast and Flourishes editions with me today as I did some belated spring cleaning and hung out around the house and yard.

Installed Skiff thick washers in the fancy one and brought it out today. It's taking longer to break the washers in, with the blade coating and whatnot, but it's getting there.

I did semi-polish these before installing them, my bead blast XM I just used my strop that has the classic green compound on it, and for this one I tried Simichrome polish I had laying around. Hard to say which worked better, since the coating on the blades(and therefore the washer contact surface) is so different. Does anyone have some recommendations on their method for polishing washers? How close to a mirror should I be aiming for?

She came with me and of course rolled in the wet grass and dirt at the earliest opportunity, she made sure to test several spots just to ensure she was as dirty as possible.

I used Simichrome for years for polishing washers. I only stopped using it because I ran out and now use some other metal polish that I just found laying around. I just put some on an old strop and give it figure-8's while rotating the washer every few cycles to make sure that all areas of the washer get a pretty even polish. I just go for a minute or two on each side until they're pretty shiny, there's no patina on them, and most of the little scratches are gone. Then I clean them real well with rubbing alcohol to get rid of all the metal polish substance, and then put a little bit of Hoppes #9 gun oil on each side of the washer. Then, as S SACBALLZ was saying earlier, put just the tiniest drop of lube on the detent ball without getting it all over.

I bought some syringe applicators online with a small non-sharp needle and give it just the tiniest bit.
