EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Woah, woah. Hold on here Martin…what fixed blade is that? Please post a full view. 😁
This is something I picked up around 10 years ago, made by Ian Hall. He ran into trouble keeping up with orders and had some health concerns so stopped making blades. The Koa on this has to be seen in person, the movement is gorgeous. Nice in the summer due to size, works well in cargo pants.IMG_1809.jpegIMG_1810.jpeg

An evening walk with the dog.
And also new knife day! 🥳

Okay, this was Wednesday’s carry. Pics were taken long before I saw ChazzyP ChazzyP ’s follow up post regarding our SHF’s. Quite the coincidence, no?

Honestly, I’m running way behind because it can take me 50 attempts to respond to a post with an emoji….as opposed to just a thumbs up. Not sure what’s up. Gotta touch it “just so” on my phone for the emoji to respond. It’s like playing a effin’ really hard video game, I get super excited with a victory but it’s usually proceeded by a lotta cussing and flailing about. Bottom line; if I give ya’ a ❤️ or a 😮 on your post, know it took a lot of effort on my part.

Also, just as a PSA….balancing a knife on the arm of one of your wife’s favorite bedroom chairs is just plain dumb. One little bump is all it took! On the plus side, the deep slice in the cushion was super clean….so she may not notice it for a while, which will give me time to find a way to spin it and deflect the blame. If I can just hold off until the grandkids visit I’ll be out of the woods. Lol, I kid….sorta.

Anyway, this blue one isn’t my favorite example. The engraving isn’t as crisp/clean and the Damascus isn’t as pretty. Here’s an older pic of the two together….

And finally, as a heads up to ChazzyP ChazzyP , if you do decide to swap out to a Nichols blade try to get a good look at the actual steel they’ll be sending ya’. Maybe that’s common sense, but figured I’d mention it just in case.

And just like that I’m back to my old form: waaaay to much verbiage with a few tangents thrown in for kicks. 🤣

Z Zeroedin , I wanted to give you a 🤣 for throwing the grandkids under the bus and a  for your advice on getting a look at any Dama blade before it got sent my way, but the software here only allowed me one choice. That had occurred to me when pondering a blade swap as there's so much variation from one piece of Damascus to the next, even in a favored pattern from a favored maker. I love the Nichols Boomerang on my Sebenza 31, but have seen some of the same that I find just kinda meh. And while your advice may seem like common sense, I'm not always seen as commonly sensible. 😏

Anyway, and back on topic, my Arius sits on the flat, for lack of space, in its slip on top of a full row of others in their slips on edge on the left side of my American mid-tech drawer. It calls to me often when in there and I couldn't think of any good reason why not to answer today. The detail, workmanship, and design on this one are outstanding, and, among all the fine pieces I've accumulated over the years, this knife may have the best action of all of them.

Just figured I would post up what’s in the pocket today, along with a thought. Does anyone else miss the good ol days of having emojis in the sales pages? I know that one can sell for whatever gouging price and flip whatever they please, but I sure do miss being able to wow or laugh at it! Hope everyone is having a great day Friday is almost here!IMG_6494.jpeg

An older fav today:

Carried because I tried a new MXG clip on it:

Fantastic clip. Blocks the blade lock a bit but since I only tip up right front pocket against the seem carry it I'm not worried in the slightest despite just today reading someone got themself pretty good with theirs. I also tried the Lynch clip for this and it's not bad just shorter than I'd like. This one feels to me so much better and brings new life to this knife now that I won't have an inch of knife visible anymore.
