Electrician's knives. And those that use them.

I started out thr day with this old PAL TL-29.52296E9D-ED8D-4008-AB1F-6D8CDC35B6A0.jpeg Cheap at a knife show because of the shoddy repair job, I bought it because I did not have a PAL Blade Co TL-29, and it has all the right stuff ~ no sharpening loss to the blade, and nice Coco Bolo with the TL-29 stamp.
But the cockeyed re-pin at the pivot bugs me. 96797CEE-CFE4-4C37-841B-C2AE32E5451B.jpeg
I am going ti have to take it apart, and see if I can get everything squared up. But later.

Can I show one that I modded? This was a later model Camillus that makes a solid two blade jack. In micarta.723ADF4C-24D4-402D-AFA1-9212AE5D513F.jpeg

You don't necessarily have to take it apart to straighten that out. Lay it on a surface, at a slight angle and just on the low side bolster (a bit more of an angle than I'm showing here, more like around 45 degrees), and with a mallet give the high side bolster a whack. Not too hard of course. Try not to hit the lock. That'll bring the bolster down and bring everything into alignment. Check the action afterward as it may either tighten or loosen up a bit. A little cutlering will fix any issues with that.

One? Show em all! 😁. That is really neat!
There's a small group of victims...er...umm... projects here waiting for the right inspiration!
All at once?

I’m a musician. An important lesson I’ve learned is never overplay, and always leave them wanting more. 😙

Thanks, Eric. You should have seen it before I did that. 🫣

I stopped knowing that the pin could break anytime. But what the heck. I’ll do it some more, since I was planning on putting in a new pin anyway. Maybe I can just whack it the rest if the way, and not have to go all the way.

M Klein & Sons

There is something nice about a well used knife.

And I don't worry about it loosing value when I sharpen it.
I dig both of these three bladers! I have the Klein as well. With that hawk blade, and it’s third spring, she’s a chunky girl. But I should use it in the garden!

I’m using this old Ulster today ~
It is unlike any others in my TL-29 cigar box in that it has a round butt. Never seen another like that, but when you use it as a screwdriver, it makes sense.
