Electrician's knives. And those that use them.

A hard used Klein that I think will work well for yard work

What vintage is that red devil?

I'm really interested in seeing early "signal corp" knives.
I don't know when it was made, but it is an early "signal corp" model. It is a little smaller than a standard TL-29, and the screwdriver blade unlocks by depressing the main blade.

Another Schrade Walden Electrician...I think this one is referenced as model 204.

Yes, I think it’s a 204. And a nice one! 🤙
But thanks to you, I just figured out a wee bit of Schrade lore!

I noticed that your 204 does not have a shackle. Check this out ~

And now I know why mine is stamped
204S!

A lot of us call it a bail, but I’ve seen old Camillus catalogs calling it a Shackle, so I’ve always followed suit. Now, it appears Schrade did as well.
I think we can conclude the S did not stand for Stainless! 🤔

The only final bit of evidence we need is for you to verify that yours is stamped 204, and not 204S…

Oh Great... Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund

Now I have to look for 204S!!! 😆

Fantastic!

Early (pre-WWI) Empire Electrician, the screwdriver/stripper blade is released by pressing on the main blade!! The etch on the main says, "Compliments of the Season"!!!🎅Elec Comp 1.jpgElec Comp 2.jpgElec Comp 3.jpgElec Comp 4.jpg The Empire Banner point-end shield seems to have been their exclusive, until Schrade started to use it on their special issues, after WWII!!

I love my tl-29s, but to be honest, I almost never use the screwdriver. So these empire Winstead lockbacks are beautiful, I can't imagine carrying one.

Is there a model number on that shrade. It's really pretty..
