Elusive Schrades

Just picked up this Schrade 3 7/8" trapper. I'm not really a Schrade collector but this one had to come home with me because of the spring work.
Sorry for the bad pics but it's cold and snowing here in the Hudson Valley and had to take pics in my kitchen.
Main blade is stamped SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. U.S.A. on the mark side. Pile side stamped 293.
Hey Schrade collectors......any info would be appreciated. :D

Nice knife. It is not from the 1947 to 1973 era. The font of the tang-stamp is newer. I first see that shield shape on legitimate Schrades on the 1981 Cutlery Classics Tradesmen series. Your knife must be newer than that. Beyond that I am not sure.

The shield and bone look definitely from the 1981 Schrade Cutlery Classics Tradesman series as Calvin mentioned above. As the knife has been taken apart to work the back springs, IMO the blades were replaced for a somewhat better earlier Schrade Walden pair.......Maybe. Whatever happened the knife turned out not fairly well.

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't think it was an older Schrade because I've never seen one like it in their old catalogs. Either way, not a bad knife for less than the cost of a good Rough Rider.

Absolutely!! By the way the last sentence in my post mistakenly has the word not in it. The knife turned out fairly well.

Three old teardrops

Nice teardrops Phil! Several variations represented!!
Two different jigs, wood, three main blades, etc. etc!

Philllll, the middle one is to die for! Lovely peach seed, no EO (my preference), and a clip main. STUNNING!!

ps. - Gev and I were thinking along the same lines!

I went through every page and while there are some absolutely stunning specimens in bone, I find there to be a disheartening lack of ebony in this thread. :D:D:D

Maybe these aren't elusive enough, but they've sure posed a challenge for me to dig up.

In the first pic, L to R:

Curved tang stamp jack
Schrade cut co walden harness jack
Schrade cut co walden dogleg (thanks again KBA!)
