I'm up for adoption John, I'd be quiet as a church mouse, do chores and stand guard over your OUTSTANDING knife collectionThe Fish Trapper showed up today, has had little to no use, great bone and love the fish shield. I understand these were only made for a few years in the 1950's.

A really nice photo PJ of a very special knife.![]()
1982 Schrade "Scrimshaw.
Thanks, Dave. It's a 36-year-old knife I found in mint condition in it's original box at a gun show. Most of the time it's a "cigar box queen", but I gotta carry it sometimes.A really nice photo PJ of a very special knife.![]()
Guess you're right. I'm probably past the halfway point!Trust me, my friend, you might just as well carry it, as time goes by really fast once you pass sixty. Then all of a sudden you wonder what to do with all the knives you've collected. I'm speaking for myself though.

That's a very nice example that I would not mind adding to my meager collection. The Fish Trapper showed up today, has had little to no use, great bone and love the fish shield. I understand these were only made for a few years in the 1950's.
Fantastic JeromeWell it took me about a week but I went through all the 87 pages. Pretty much lost track of everything else going on but it was such a treat to see all the wonderful knives and gain all the valuable information that was shared. My finger kept reaching for the like button but I would have overwhelmed Charlie and all the other contributors showing their rare and beautiful knives. Schrade's peachseed jigging is my absolute favorite and I could just keep looking and looking. Such a shame that we lost so many pictures to photobucket. Thanks to our good friendpaulhilborn , he was kind enough to give me the opportunity to own this beauty. I have added a little patina to it. Sorry guys but I couldn't resist. I really enjoy pocketing and using these old works of art.View attachment 1017162 View attachment 1017163
Hey! That was my knife ready to be sent to NZ!
No seriously- I know Paul would have had a hard time letting that one go - but to such a good guy who owns it now I am sure that made it easier![]()
Fantastic JeromeI am so glad it is yours now. I love the fact that you'll carry it every now and then. I understand both sides of carry or not to carry discussions
I use but resist strenuous use for such a great vintage knife. You are spot on about Schrade vintage peachseed, one can just sit and stare in amazement
