Nice 171 David... is it a Schrade Walden? I was on the lookout for one a while ago but gave up on finding a S-W for less than $200.![]()

While not as epic as most posted here,it was an elusive knife for me. My best friend has one, first time I seen his was around 1997. I've had my eye out for one ever since, only found this one a few weeks ago. Someone used Chicago screws and glue to repair the sheath, which I don't mind at all.
I have a couple different Schrade made P-F knives... the Johnny Muskrat (red and green bone), Little Bandit (red bone) and the Bison (red and brown bone), they are very impressive knives!I’m not sure how elusive they are but today’s mail call finished up the trio of Bison I have been trying to get.![]()
Don't think so, I'm guessing that a S-W would be tang stamped as such. This one has some very faint etching instead. Its just about impossible to read what was there. Is there a way to date it from the serial # on the guard?Nice 171 David... is it a Schrade Walden? I was on the lookout for one a while ago but gave up on finding a S-W for less than $200.
I agree. I've never seen one with as much tip left as the drawing, but I've only seen a couple of these. It would be cool to see a minty one, Paul!!From the catalog cut that looks to have had a tip as fine as a needle when new. Quite a hefty knife.

Not exactly a Movie Star, this knife sat unattended in various drawers for long periods of time, after living some of its life hard at work!! It is time for it to make its debut as a very collectible Schrade!!! I found a catalog cut in the 1936 supplement to the 1926 Schrade Catalog "E".

This knife is constructed more like the "Tina" professional horticultural knives, with thick brass liners, and a deeply recessed end joint to keep the blade well supported when in use! It even has European Walnut handles!! The spring on this thing will lop a finger!! Hear that "THUD"?
That was me closing the knife!!!
And it weighs a ton!!! The knives below clock in at 4.24 oz, 3.23oz, 2.21oz. and 2.19oz, respectively!!
Beautiful after all!!

There HAS to be one, Paul!!It would be Charlie, but there may not even be one.![]()
Charlie and Paul, this one's not mine, it was on Ebay a while back. I would have gone for it but as usual I was too broke at the time. I liked it so much I saved a picture of it lol! It's about as unused as I've seen:
