No, not really.... The design throws me off and I would never use it. If i did more cooking I would prolly keep it, but i dont even cook, so for me its not going to be useful. I have other blades id prefer to use in the same size range for bushcraft and camp chores. I keep plenty of knives that dont get used... But i have to like the design, and on the 5 i just dont care for it.


Maybe one of you guys would find it more useful.

Every once in a while someone asks me about that. I'd love to give it a shot, but the problem is I can make and sell at least a half-dozen "normal" knives in the time it would take... it just doesn't add up for me business-wise. It would have to be a commission from a pretty serious client, with fairly deep pockets.

what's your alternative blade in that size? I really like this thing.
It's what I thought I wanted in the 2, but as I got more knife-savvy the 10 became the one.

haven't touched it yet. thinking about de-ramping and maybe bevel-stripping, but that's it.

For me it's still the BK2. There's nothing that can be done with the 10 that I cant do with the 2. The extra weight of the 2 has never bothered me. I still find it a sexy beast!
Dont get me wrong. The BK10 is an amazing knife, but I dont think it can replace the role of my 2.

I like it. It's big enough for what I want to use it for but not too big. Us old folks can't carry what I used to when I was in my twenties. :D As far as condition, it looks hardly used and is well worth the $27.
Oh and it doesn't smell like a Marine.

I have the rucksack that matches it but not the assault pack. The Ruck is made by Arc teryx its a good pack
 
I thought about the ruck for about two seconds. But if I filled it, I wouldn't be able to lift it let alone carry it. But you're a big boy. You can attach the assault pack to the back of yours and carry both.:D
