Emergency Sheath Tutorial?

do you have a router? if you do, you may be able to carve out he shape of the ash one out of one of those thicker boards you have in the first pic, and staple, nail, or bolt another thinner peice of wood over it. from there you could staple on a strap of leather or what have you, and have a short nail for a latching bolt.
