Thanks S.T.R.! Been pondering about the scales. It's nice the way it is (as a collectable) but you know me, can't leave my Emersons stock. Probably something like yours but OD canvas Micarta. Who knows, it might end up with a gunner grip or the frag pattern on G10.

Beautiful knives fellows.....I love Emerson's....I have a few that have been pimped I guess is what you would call it....hoping to have a Journeyman taken by Nathawut to get her all fixed up , looks like his work is amazing....still waiting to hear back. I've been enjoying these two beauties . Old school meets new school. The 99 CQC-7 is the smoothest Emerson I've ever owned/handled to date. Maybe it's got something to do with being my 2014 models elder by 15 years, and like wine....... only gets better with time, hehe. It definitely is broke in, and "I can't believe it's not butter", in the smoothness/action department. Also, the Bead Blasted finished blade is fantastic and hides scratches quite well. Not to mention, the thinner/slimmer handle profile is ergonomic goodness in hand.

What's your source for the torx/hex screws?

New CQC-8 and Traveler. Not too keen on the hand feel of the Traveler myself, but it's nice none the less.
