How can anyone hate that? :D

I'm sure someone that thinks zt is the only good knife out there could find something to say lol.beautiful knife sir

I've been doing a ton of reading while I sit for my cqc7 to get here and I came to the conclusion that Emerson isbthe most love/ hate knife company I've came across. I don't get it

...it seems the chisel grind is appropriate for chiselers, don't you think?

Funny thing about chisel grinds, you still have a V ground edge, except one side is parallel with the blades handle. That's why some people say that chisel ground knives cut to the left or right, rather than cut straight.

oh no, Mr. Coyote. Not again! :D
Ernest has explained the reason(s) he makes his grinds the way he does.

IMO Emerson's are designed to be used...not collected. When the time comes to use my knife, whether it be for opening a box or god forbid a serious self defense situation, the last thing I am thinking about is how nice the "flame treated Ti frame lock" looks. Emerson has a proven track record and they may be "behind the times" when it comes to steel choice, but again just cause it's not the newest doesn't mean it's not good.

Much love and respect for Ernie and Mary - total fan of their knives; I have many.

That said, I would prefer that their chisel grind was on the other side for us right handed folk.

Just so I am not mis-understood, I am a total fanboy (and proudly so) of EKI and have put my money (and my right front pocket real estate) were my mouth is but, I sure wish they would have put the chisel grind the other side.

Ernest REALLY has to do a run of RH chisel grind folders.
Come on, Ernest.

I own ZT's and Emersons. Of the latter, I own a SOCFK-B, CQC-7AW, CQC-8, CQC-11, Super Karambit, and a Commander.

While Emersons have gotten better, I still find the pivots on most of my knives to be rough and the detents quite weak, whereas this is far less frequent on my ZT's. It still happens - I had a limited edition 0560 CBCF that had a detent weaker than an ordinary production's and a 0200 that would only flip halfway without any wrist flicking.

Emerson still makes a decent knife, but flattery doesn't do anyone a service. I don't think it'd be unreasonable to assume that knife manufacturer's want to know how their products can improve.

I love my mini roadhouse I hate the customer service, the experience I had was enough to convince me to not support them with my dollars again.
But I don't hate the knives.

What is your experience with CS? Most things I've read were very positive concerning Emerson's CS.

I bent my pocket clip and couldn't get it back to useable condition so I emailed them and asked if I could purchase a new one and they directed me to there site. When i tried to check out shipping alone was over $60.00 I figure it was a mistake maybe I had filled something out wrong, so I contacted them again and they just directed me to the site again.
I realize this doesn't seem like a big deal but a few months prior I had bent the clip on my BM mini bone collector and apon contacting them they shipped me out 2 clips plus screws for both never charged me and they were just awesome.
I feel that if a company can give that kind of service when I spend $100.00 why can't Emerson when I spend over $200.00.

Just pick up a clip on eBay, they have the stonewashed and black oxide with and without the skulls/swords. Makes life much easier. It is surprising to hear that they wouldn't take your order then and there, one pocket clip, one set of pocket clip screws, ship it USPS Priority International, be thee in a week to ten days.

I've since solved the problem on my own, it was that they didn't offer the simple solution of sending me one instead of directing me to the site that soured me.

That would make me spend elsewhere also. ZT sent me replacement parts pronto & free of charge.
