Hey man, that's fine with me. As long as I have a knife that's sharp, tough, and feels good in hand I'm plenty happy. Oh, and sexy. A knife has to be sexy. Emerson just seems to fit that bill on more models than any other maker I can find. I know all ZT's are famous for being tough, but some of them just don't look like the blades would be very strong (regardless of steel) with the types of grinds they are using.
 
Well, we'll see when I actually get them in my hand. But I have a feeling it's gonna be a bit of a self fulfilling proficy, haha

The black finish holds up really well. I've cut soda cans with my black CQC-15 and it only showed minimal wear. Every coating will eventually wear and scratch but the coating on Emersons is pretty strong
 
I think if you go the 7 route you should consider a Super 7.

The 15 is phenomenal, also.
 
I'll end up getting both regular and super 7, just not sure which one first, lol What advantages or disadvantages do you find having the recurve tanto on the 15?
 
The CQC-15 takes the best of two awesome designs and puts them in one knife. The blade shape pushes whatever you are cutting into the curve allowing it to cut more efficiently. The belly of the blade also works well for regular EDC tasks because it doesn't focus wear on the point like a standard tanto. But it also keeps the tanto tip allowing for ease in penetration when cutting. It was my first Emerson and one of my favorites.
 
Urge! Now I don't know weather to get the Gentleman Jim, CQC-7, Super CQC-7, or the CQC-15 next... Someone on here should just give me a good deal on all four, haha
 
The obsession only gets worse. I've accumulated 11 Emerson's in the last 8 weeks or so. I move them all. I usually carry my mini a100 to work. Outside of work I alternate them. I'm partial to the Jim it's fantastic, the other 10 are tied for 2nd favorite:)
I use to have a cluttered mess of about 50 folders. Now I have 16.....11 of which are Emerson's. I have a mini cqc15 on the way and have hi expectations for it.
 
I'm not sure if I want to get any mini's or not. I know they would fit my girlfriend better if I were getting her one, but I like my big folders. And here in Texas we can carry up to a 5.5" blade. I am really hoping though that they come out with a Super CQC-15. Now that would be pretty sweet.

Haha I know what you mean. I don't know weather to hold out a couple weeks and just drop like $2,000 on all the ones I want at once or pick them up as I go. Only trouble is deciding which one to get next, haha
