Emerson Replies to Emerson Woes

Quotes by Ernie:

so I will just say, go ahead and hit me with your best shot.

Justin seems to be on a, "Me thinks he doth protest too much" routine here (I think he was referring to the OP as a LADY because the quote is the "lady doth protesteth to much"...)

am probably the only one that any of you has ever known that will not only publicly tell it like it is, but will do so in person and more than a few times, not just with words, regardless of the PR

I have over 20 emerson knives ( yes I keep buying them also).. I only sent in one with a failing lock last year and I had to send back two times because it was not fixed the first time..after the second time Ernie called me with with a very defensive tone and promised the knife were as good as the ones he would carry..I also expected something in the package (but did not ask) with the knife for the loss of time and hassle-but nothing was upgraded or included. A week later the knife started a new "whistling" problem and I called and left messages and he never called me back. After that I just expected problems with Emerson knives after I bought them.. about 50% of them had some sort of problem. I started to send some off to couple guys who are experts in fixing Emerson knives (like leaning blades ect) that I could not fix with the normal "tricks" . Costs me about $20 bucks to send them off and have them done right.. and the knives come back perfect.

Anyone wants the email of my guy who fixes Ernies knives can contact me and I promise you that this is easier than dealing with Ernie and his high price return shipping and wait time.

Anyway, that is my solution to his knives and what I do. I serves me well but has cost me a bit . But I also have perfect Emersons knives- a rarity!

As far as you Ernie-you are incredibly FOS and you know it!

I was seriously hoping this was just a fluke... My biggest influence in knife buying is the warranty support. I dont think I will get an emerson just on the chance I have to send it in.

Benchmades warranty is still yet to be competed with...

There are plenty of warranties that blow away the Benchmade warranty. BM doesn't cover any knife that's been taken apart. Kershaw and Emerson will. And CRK has a better warranty than they do since they will still cover pimped knives as long as the pimping doesn't affect the function of the knife.

And heck, if you include fixed blades then Bark River, ESEE, and Busse, Fehrman, and plenty of other companies will cover things that they are crazy to cover in my opinion!

You can still get Emerson knives..I know a forum member here who is an expert in fixing them. Why is he an expert? Because he gets a lot of them in and has lots of experience.

Basically I like the design of Ernies knives. It is his quality control that is a problem and ..him (just read his posts) . If he really listened to his customers (like he always says he does) he would have fixed his problem a long time ago. Everyone knows his knives are cool but his quality control is severely lacking. That is no huge bombshell the OP dropped here.

Another suggestion is just get the old Benchmade/Emerson colaborations..the BM 970 and 975. Those are rock solid knives with the same design as the ones that come from Ernies factory without the quality control issues.

Or just pay an extra $20 bucks and get your knives fixed. It is only $20 more and worth it IMO. Save yourselves the hassle and aggravation. Just plan on spending $20 more and get the knife the way it should come from the factory!

This is not about Ernest.. It is about what we like! That is a real solution to a problem that has existed since Ernie started his own company. Or pay 6x the amount and get one of his customs knives (pretty cool racket he has going if you ask me), but nothing 20 bucks won't fix or send your knife to Nathuwut for a custom job at a small fraction of the cost of one of Errnies customs and get the same thing.

For the price point, you should have impeccable standards. quality control, build quality, customer service, all play a roll in what you pay. for 200 you shouldnt have hit or miss QC.

Youre right though, benchmades warraty is not the best. But theyve never let me down.

That's cool. I do like that knife!

Grab one. Kai actually takes care of their customers. I pre ordered one, I know this clown will still get a little of my money but I want one knife with a wave. At least it won't say emerson on the blade and instantly piss me off haha.

@ MOhunter92

I understand you're frustrated but I'm confident you can share your opinion without name-calling.

I was doing so but Ernie decided he would start calling me names so why can't I?

I am however more calm today. If our pal Ernie here decides to make another dumb post insulting me and saying anyone that agrees with me is just an emerson hater, I probably will get heated again.

In the mean time, thanks for reminding me. I'm gonna try and simmer down more. You have to understand my anger the past couple days with how I've been treated and talked to by Ernest and a couple emerson fan boys flaming me.

Yup. If I was Ernie I would be extremely embarrassed about what was leaving my shop.

He's not embarrassed. He probably thinks he's completely right. He is a narcissist. So many people are obsessed with him and the tales he creates that he can keep sending out crap knives. It's hit or miss.

I was one of them. Even after all the things his company has done to me it wasn't until I saw his blatant disrespectful comments about me that I snapped out of it and saw that he was a clown with nothing but hype puffing up his little chest and knives.

Alright, I will calm down now LOL

I'll admit I didn't see Mr. Emerson's later posts in this thread. Your response was understandable.

Being that there still isn't a manufacturer appointed moderator of this forum, I'll simply close this thread if there is anymore name calling by anyone at all.

Thank you. I will bite my tongue, but if you could please don't remove it, it should stay up so people can see how emerson spoke to me when I did nothing to deserve such disrespect.

Maybe you should bite your tongue, it appears that Mr. Emerson is trying to " correct " his previous post about you.

I've seen arguments during the business day, among management staff, but it wasn't personal. We were all on the same team. Then someone comes along in a mood to "win" the discussion, and the remarks immediately get personal, and useless.

We are all human, and emotions can be a problem. Have to learn to calm down before speaking. Defensive is destructive.

As I stated in the original complaint thread- it sounds like there's more going on here which was confirmed by Emerson himself. No surprise at all.

The OP's tone has been aggressive from the start in this thread and the original complaint thread. I don't agree with the tone of EE's response but I can't say I don't understand WHY he responded this way.

The fact that EE started a new thread to try and make it right says a lot about the man.

The MoHunter could learn much from this example.

You're a joke, you've been one since the start of the thread, butt off the thread and don't talk down on me, things are resolved and again here you are trying to start crap

I disagree!

Thanks man. This guy has had it out for me since the beginning, nothing he says has been accurate or helpful at all in the situation.

I think anyone with any sense reading his comments can see that. Just that most people don't want to get involved and step up to say anything.

also I don'tthink most people payed as much attention to his post as you did. What was important was what you wrote and Ernest wrote.
