Emerson woes, update.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. When it rains it pours at times. You may never have a problem with another.
I think they'll get you fixed up, and sorry you're having to take some heat. Good luck.

edit- I take back the part "I think they'll get you fixed up"
Ernies huge ego may get in the way.

Wow. What a shame to spend so much and get garbage. I'll keep checking for a positive update! Even though i have no intention to buy such a knife.

It would be nice if the fan boys and grammar Nazis f'ed off and allowed this to be about the totally unacceptable quality and customer service of this brand, instead of the layout of the op.

Thanks man. I'll have more pics up tonight to clear any doubt. Yeah sometimes when it rains it pours.

Thank you. I can't believe I was instantly ripped apart by members over such stupid crap. I just did this for the members that asked for an update. And yes frankly I was given straight pieces of crap but the fixed up 7 and my mini 15 are great so far. I hope I can give a positive update soon.

well here goes.. i might as well toss my hat into the ring :-)

MOhunter92- you are new to BF, I see that reading your recent intro post.
so I can only speculate that you are a serious user of knives, as evidenced by your post of the black finish wearing off so quickly on your CQC7, ref your intro post.

What would you like at this point? what would satisfy you? a full refund? or a properly functioning knife to your standards?
my assessment - I don't think you will be satisfied with Emerson knives....

my experience- Emerson owner of a CQC7, CQC-15, mini CQC-15, A-100, handmade A-100, handmade CQC-22 and -15 and a bumblebee pretac.
and about 50 other handmade customs of various makers over the last 14 months.

regards

Good to see the Emerson haters are still lurking here. MOhunter92 has shown his enthusiasm towards Emersons, I remember showing him some comparison pics. Also, thanks for your response, I was not sure what was occurring.

To everyone else, yes he is griping and frustrated. Adding fuel to the fire is not helping, especially if you have never owned an Emerson, which makes me wonder what you are doing in here unless you have an agenda against a successful knifemaker.

Man I don't care about cosmetics. I just want a nice sturdy folder which I have in my super 7 and mini 15. I don't care for fit and finish. I love the comfort and feel of Emerson's. If you read my posts you will see I do love Emerson's. I'm just extremely let down by a few knives I bought from them that are completely unacceptable. What would satisfy me is a sturdy and solid lock up in my Emerson's and that is it, period. I'm not asking for anything else.

And I didn't come here to whine or complain. Like I said a few times a couple guys requested an update. I'm about to leave the gym shortly and will have pics up of the knives. Like I also said, I carried my broken roadhouse over my rock solid zt 301 that's how much I like my Emerson's. I just want them nice and rock solid. I don't care about pretty fit and finish BS.

If you are interested, I can mail you one of my Emersons to check for rock solid lock up. Let me know.

That is so awesome of you man, I really appreciate the offer. My super 7 is rock solid, a straight tank. I am totally in love. It has my full confidence. Same with the mini 15, but it worried me just a tad. It's still extremely early so I won't jump to conclusions yet. It just really scared the crap out of me and pissed me off when my roadhouse lock failed and my 10 had rock lock out the box and now it's back to me with another defect. I will most likely keep these knives forever, I just want them all to feel like my 7.

If you are concerned about the lock up on the mini 15 wave it a few times and it should help with that.

Also please post pics when you get a chance, I'm curious as to see the bent liner.

That's what I've been doing. Tried it with the roadhouse, it moved way over. Doesn't have as much play now but still is dangerous, it's failed. I will be putting pics up shortly, stay posted.

Way cool of you man:thumbup:

I know what it's like to want your knives to feel like your best knife. I hope they get you fixed up and you end up getting more Emersons in the future:thumbup:

Something I can easily see happening that no one really mentions is that someone gets a knife and for whatever reason they aren't happy and sends it back to the knife vendor.

You know they're going to try to not lose money on it. So then they sell it to an unsuspecting customer. Not saying that is what happened here but I can see that scenario happen because I was once sold a knife that I know for a fact was in someone else's pockets before me. It Does happen.

I do. Sadly it is human nature on forums of any kind. No one acts that way though when they meet someone for the first time. It easier to "act a little different" on the internet. I made a mental note on this entire thread FWIW to the OP.

Knives are exactly how I received them from emerson. First is the super 7. The first emerson I bought. It developed vertical blade and had a creak in the lock. Sent to emerson for repair. I just got this back today after 3 weeks plus. It is rock solid, and exactly how I expect my Emerson's to be. Love the knife.
