End of the year Knives sales for 12/29

FYI.....I found the weight of 18 inch M-43 by Kumar. Horn handle. True workhorse for your service at $95.
This weighs 33oz

Thanks for that. Bit heavy for me but I'm sure it's an amazing tool.
I was really tempted by the chainpuri too I'd be really interested to hear how it handles.
I think I'd like something 18" 18-20 oz

Possibly the closest thing you might find is a Foxy Folly, siraputi, Kumar Kobra etc.
Or a VUK

I think my first blade of the new year will be the 11 1/2" Baby Foxy Folly with the nice Rhodedendron handle. I wasn't gonna since I have one but I just checked and it's 9 1/2" and a Purna so not the same thing right.
Handle looks a bit more generous on this one.
Red Eagle saved me from myself on the Cow/Praying Lady knife. Now if someone will scoop this from under me maybe I can go a few more days into the new year for a new knife.

Bawanna I was hoping you were going to get that carved one so i did not have too but when it was still there i had to email auntie.

By the way is a balance knife just the shape with the fullers? I looked through past postings and it appears its just the blade style and shape.

Although i noticed alot of balance khuks come close to the magic 1 inch 1 ounce most within an ounce of the length, is this coincidence or is this weight to length ratio part of the balance?

I can't believe I finally scored the knife I designed. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::D:D:D

15 inch 26 ounce Ang Khola Bowie by Ram Kumar. Horn handle. $85.

Cobalt you designed the Ang Khola Bowie? I absolutely love them! I’ve got 3!

yes, the original version, I drew out and spec'd for Bill to give to Kamis. I then had to go out of country for some time and when I came back Yvsa had added his clip point to it, but the original did not have a clip point, it looked like a straight Ang Khola which was what I wanted. The one pictured above is the closest I have seen to it. I wanted it called the AK Bowie, Bill tried calling it the Cobalt Special and Yvsa threw in the Bird and Trout knife, lol. AK Bowie I think was the best choice.

I feel honored to know the designer and definitely endorse your design! It took me a while to consent to the purchase but ndog convinced me I wouldn’t be sorry! 3 AKB’s later, it’s one of my best all around camp knives! One of them is a gift to my son on his birthday next week!
Thanks for the history of its origin Mr Tall and Cobalt!!

I still have my original drawings on how I progressed through the design until I got it where I wanted it and faxed to Bill. He then sent to Kamis who were saying "why would anyone want a straight knife?" lol. Fun times back then.

Nearly 19 years later it is totally irrelevant but just a bit of history. I took a pic of my original progression of designs from the papers I had folded in my basement. Just trivia for you.
