I do agree that folders are broken fixed blade 
What I'm curious is that (if Vivi really sent in the knife to Sal) is Sal's conclusion as he has all the needed equipment to check. He might just say: it's broken as the force impacted is bigger than the ability of material + design to absorb, which means it's normal. But he might find something useful, i.e. there're part of the tang that is overly stressed due to design, which can be improved in future model.
I never imply that doing so (like what Vivi did) is not considered abuse. It has happened, and what we can do best is learn from it. I guess that's why Sal offered to analyze it ..
