Endura / Delica - full flat FRN - need input

Orange, toxic green, Russian cockpit blue/green (kind of a bluer Aquamarine, like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/martinhronsky/2920566312/ ).

I like red, but it's too aggressive for a knife. I prefer bright or plain colors that look like a tool or toy, not a weapon. Same reason I dislike camouflage generally.

Man o man I want an FFG Endura! I'm not crazy about dual colored handles though. I like: (in order from most to least)

Red
Grey
Tan
Orange

Will these be sprint runs or will they become legit production models?

I have the FFG Endura with G10 scales and it kicks ass. Great knife. When an Endura with FRN comes out in FFG no matter the colour I'll be picking one up.

Light blue would look very good.

We're planning to make a change to a full flat grind on the Endura and Delica FRN models. We are concerned that the change to the grind could be received poorly by those that like grind lines and "stronger" saber grinds.

In order to test reacton without changing the current models, Eric would like to make some Endura and Delica models with full flat grinds (VG-10) but use some new colors to distinguish them from the current models. Odd colors that we've not used, maybe 3 or 4.

I know most of you ar afi's, but our interest is in what the "general" market might like.

I need your input on 3 or 4 colors with which to test these flat ground versions.

To satisfy those that want a "stronger" blade why not keep the same spine profile while making it flat ground? You could keep the blade strength and rigidity while still having the cutting performance of a FFG blade.

Don't see why you can't have both FFG and Saber models. I'd just dump all the combo edge models and add the FFG.

PS How about a sprint run with pointy tips ?

I'm all for the FFG change. Colors? Nothing toxic or bright. Someone said Gray? That would be my choice, followed by other subdued colors. These are high performance tools, not kiddie toys.

I see a lot of people want orange. My take on orange tells me no. Orange has been identified with emergency tools for a while now, and while a FFG is still strong, it isn't as strong as the saber grind. Thus, my knee jerk reaction is "It needs to be built like a tank if it's going to be orange."

Just my opinion, but to each his own.

Cobalt blue, baby blue, gold and pink are my choices.

I'm a 48 year old bore, and have never even been able to put on a bright colored shirt Other than type's of above colors the only shirt color I will wear is dark blue, black, dark burgandy, or white...told you I was a bore,lol.
Like my knives the same way.

Bought an Orange Millie and Busse before, and realized there was no way I could carry anything with brightish colors. But man is that orange popular lately!

For colors you haven't used on the Endura/Delica line-up I would say either a ACU Gray, some bright (neon) orange, a maroon (think trainer but darker), or a mild green (seagreen).

Really I think the best colors are the ones you already have, maybe an orange, or a different gray/blue shade or coyote brown.

Orange Griptilian, orange Tyrade, orange OD-1 I've heard, orange Urban, orange Military... None of those are "emergency tools," at least I don't think.

Oh man, this is going to be nuts :thumbup:

FFG Delica/Endura is brilliant and I am sure they will be big sellers.

As for the colors, you need a "conservative" color for those who don't like anything flashy.

OD would be a solid choice in that category or perhaps a Coyote Brown.


However, the other colors (imo) should be flashy

Cobalt Blue is a great choice, make it pop
Orange is always a crowd favorite.
Maroon might be interesting if you can make it look good.
Lavender I think it'd look nice

would it be too crazy to have a choice of FFG or saber blades? i like them both for different reasons of course but i also feel like the delica/endura was born with the saber grind it would be sad to see it go.

The burgandy/maroon or even a fire engine red would be awesome. The toxic or lime green sounds good also. I wonder if FRN can have metal flake or sparkles in it? Maybe a classy navy blue with metalic flake. Can FRN be made to look like the old celuloid handles? Turtle shell or some mix of color?
