Merry Christmas folks.
SWMBO spent several hours playing on her new lathe yesterday while i built some shelves.
today she's working from 9-6, tomorrow is her B-day so we're taking an extra day off from work to spend some time with her family.

Hmmmm...maybe I'll lay that out as the package knife this year. :) Family is showing up soon...can't decide if that means I need to break out the booze or get the dinner going.

Merry Christmas people. Thought I´d drop by and post some random winter pictures :)













Up until yesterday the winter has been cold and dry, which is perfect for me since I love jogging outdoors, but yesterday the weather changed. The temperature rose tremendously and it started snowing. Right now it is about minus 6 degrees Celsius which is crazy warm compared to the temperatures we have had the last few weeks.
 
great pics -- it's about -10c (12F) here right now and breezy, which makes it feel even colder.
 
Yeah, wind sucks. I´m staying at the foot of a glacier mountain now and here there is always a cold breeze coming from the glacier.
 
Nice cool day at -11F. :p I'm headed out to my brothers in a bit to see what the youngins got to open up this morning and to chow down on some more good food. I had to work a normal shift last night and was kinda bummed about it. After I got unloaded at the post office that sorts my towns mail I was headed out to the truck to sit for my normal five hours before I get to head home and I ended up telling a guy that I've became friends with Merry Christmas and that I'd see him in about 5 hours to help load my trailer back up. He told me that he didn't think they would really have any mail for me to haul back, so I found the expeditor and a supervisor and asked them what was going on. They both agreed that I wouldn't have any mail to haul back home and that I could leave!!! I ran outside, unhooked, my trailer, and got the heck outta town before they could change their minds. It sure was nice to be back in town at midnight instead of 5am. It was kinda a nice Christmas surprise!!

Just woke up and getting ready to head to thw in-laws for the evening. Then, off to work......

Went to my mom's, gave her the cutting board I made her to go with the knife I gave her last year. She broke her 5" Oxo good grips kitchen saw (I'm sure it's sold as a knife, but that's a saw edge), so that's more work for me. :)

The venison stew came out pretty good. Gotta put leftovers in the fridge.
 
Well Santa's gone but we had a great time with the family. Blizzard warning here for late tonight and tomorrow. Bring it. Got all kinds of food, fuel, beer and some good books to read. Even got a good woman to snuggle. Yeah..bring it on.
 
its around 32 degrees here now. I also found a killer deal on a kalamazoo 1x42 for $203.11 (plus shipping). I might just order it and some steel tomorrow and try my hand at knife making.
