Just heard that Enlan is preparing some D2 Steel Blade G10 Handle Fixed Blade and they are not going to put Enlan's logo to avoid problem with Chinese police department

what would you expect from them ? quality? How much would you like to pay for them if they are finally in the market?

Those bottom two look way too much like Busse knives. Especially the trademarked Talon Hole.

I was thinking the same thing, I like the design, but that's probably because it reminds me of a Busse knife. I'm not sure I would have gone with D2 on a more hard use looking fixed blade like that either. It is unfortunate their first venture into fixed blades is marked with more theft of trademarks, and you can't say its because they made Busse's economy "made in china" line for them, they must have a deal worked out or something either. Oh well, I have too many knives on my to buy list anyway.

Based on the Enlan folding knives, they might be OK. But fixed blades can face a lot harder use than folders, so who knows?

But that hole is definitely a live trademark. Per the US Patent and Trademark Office website, "The mark consists of a hole in the rearward portion of the blade." And that last knife sure looks like it has one of those.

I'd rather get a Queen D2 fixed blade and know the heat treatment is good. In all honesty I do like the designs, but I wouldn't want to rely on a Chinese made fixed blade in the woods.

They're actually using D2? Or is it like the 440C that turned out to be 8Cr13MoV? I might buy them if they're well-designed and not blatant copies of other knives like the bottom two are.

It's a US patent so I guess they don't care.

I don't buy from anyone that can't come up with their own designs and takes from others. Just me though. Looks like a blatant Busse theft to me.

That's certainly possible, but China is a member state of the World Intellectual Property Organization, so there's at least the possibility of some legal action. But it might not be worth the effort and expense.

+1

It can't be that hard to just come up with your own design and stop ripping off others.

They make good knives, especially for the price. But I agree that they look like a Satin Jack Tac.

hmmm... top one is slightly reministcent of a Kershaw Skinner
Maybe that's why I like it
It takes guts to make a proto in pink :D

Busse used to use D2 and still swears by it. Much like INFI, it's all in the HT. ;)

I'd buy this knife if I didn't already own an "Embrace The Suck," of which this is a close twin. I appreciate my Busses way too much to buy a copy. Also, how hard can it be to come up with a good, more generic droppoint style knife? I hear mostly good stuff about Enlan, so why not go the extra mile and be more original?
