Entire Collection Gone

How can you get your stuff stolen from you right in front of a courthouse?!
I would think it is because that's were you are going to find a large number of criminals.
And because courthouses tend to be in downtown districts, which tend to also be high-crime districts with higher population density and often the location of homeless services.

And Cincinnati has a ski-high crime rate anyway (higher than Albuquerque or Chicago in almost every category), above the national average in every single category. I probably wouldn't even go downtown there...

Here is Cincinnati compared to Chicago:

Ahh dang, I'm sorry about that man, that's what you call a stroke of bad luck. I hide anything I have of value in my truck; stick it in the console, under the seat, etc. At least then they know that breaking into my truck is not a sure thing; plus they have to waste time hunting for my valuables, which increases the chances of someone noticing them.

The last truck I bought has a ranch hand in bed toolbox (3/16") steel tool box with dual buffo ( german locks) locks bolted to the frame. It would take a whole day to break into it. I keep all my valuable stuff in it. They can steal the truck but they wont crack the safe (toolbox).

I hate butthead theives, they deserve to be strung up.My 90 yr old neighbor just got robbed in a parking lot, shoved him down took $100 cash and a diamond ring.He is slowly dying of cancer.I'd beat them to death if I could.

If you were there and had your CCL ( my state) you could have removed some of the trash from your state.

It's awfully nice of you to rub it in JGarth:jerkit:

Didn't anyone ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all? We can't all be as inteligent as you. Don't bother responding to me, I already know from previous posts that you're always right and you always have loads of facts to back up your opinion. Just admit you f-ed up and apologize.

Be a man, don't kick a guy when he's down.

I agree with this post 100% I just couldnt post my feelings without this thread being in W&C or the Cove. Can anyone say Phucktard.

sorry to hear you had your knives stolen bro. For those that say that it isnt to bad just because they werent all that expensive..you should think again. Items value are not just measured in money. A knife may have memories and such which out beats any stupid custom that just sits in a safe never to be used. Secondly, one mans junk is another mans treasure...sometimes what may seem cheap to you may be a lot for someone else. Really not fair to judge just because of the estimated initial cost.

In anycase, im really sorry that they got snagged like that. That would make me very very upset.

Thanks to everybody for understanding; and to those who don't, then oh well. I'm not going to sit here and cry because some big, bad man whom I've never met said that my collection wasn't worth much over the Internet.

Yes, we have a high crime rate here in Cincinnati; a fact that I'm reminded of every day by the neighbors. And we live in one of the worst parts of the city if you're white. I take a .45 automatic with me wherever I go, but I can't take it to the courthouse :-( Isn't that ironic; that I take it everywhere, yet the one place I can't take it is the place I'd need it?

I grew up around knives. My wife grew up around knives. Our five-year-old daughter has knives (Subcom, Chive, Ladybug, and Victorinox SD). We pack a knife each every day, all day. My 5-year-old is getting good at sharpening (with supervision). We love our knives. So for something like this to happen, yes, it sucks. We rebuild and move on now.

Can I beat an entire gang empty-handed? No. But the first one to make their move will be a martyr.

Man i hate criminals!!!!! I just ordered a delica wave the other day to replace my worker model with steel grips. I would send my old model to you if it would help any.

sorry to hear that your knives were stolen. sometimes it doesnt matter how careful you are or how well you have things locked up. if a thief wants something they are going to get it no matter what. i live in a small town in ohio and luckily not in a big city. there is some crime here but you dont hear much about it. neighbors look out for neighbors. dont feel like it was your fault like some people might say but who cares about their opinion. they need to do like Esav Benyamin said in a post yesterday "You gotta get a life"

Well, unfortunately I'm not allowed to see the surveillance tapes without an attourney, so I'll have have to get a lawyer. I figure for the cost of one, I could just buy new knives. If I had the money to. LOL. Sucks.

The Internet is not a substitute for human interaction.

At least you have the right aditude about it. I'm the type of person who would have spent 3 times what the knives where worth just to find the POS that took them. Of course he would probably get no jail time which would just make me hotter.

So you are doing the right thing in just letting the knives go a moving on. And on the bright side as others have mentioned, you do to buy some new goodies.

Anybody want to get a pool going to get some knives back in this fella's hands?

Not a rich man by any stretch of the 'magination, but I recon I could get at least 10 or 20 bucks together towards a couple of new blades...

I would definitely like to help out too. I felt real bad when I first read about it.

I used to take my knife roll with me whenever I left my house for long periods. I was afraid someone would break in and steal my knives. That was over 20 years ago before I could afford a safe. So I understand....
