ESEE fest.........the aftermath

Pick I-70! Pick I-70! You can come by the farm (it's just north of the highway) and I'll grill you up some steaks from home grown cattle. Mmmm. Steak.

define Northern?
I-40 or I-70?

Probably 40. Karen has a photos shoot to do in Norco CA on Sunda, then we're headed to Vegas to have dinner with a friend of mine and from there it's up in the air. Just wnat to stick to main roads since this old clunker Toyota may give out

dinner with Lee?

I-70 is a main road - took my wife about 20 hours to drive it from Vegas to KC last year...
We live just North of the highway as well and can offer a clean room & food (I still have a little bit of elk in the freezer) if you and Karen need a place to stop, as long as you're OK with dogs... :D
I-40 is pretty mind numbingly boring between Tucumcari & OKC...

Wow, looks like y'all had a good time. I used to like winter camping--went paddling one time, and the lake froze over night!

What kind of Rover is the White one? Year? Any thoughts on how much those usually go for?

The white Rover is a mid - late 90's Defender. It's a 2 door and a hell of a wheeler! You can find them all over ebay auto for sale right now.

Pelton bought that one in Alabama about 30 minutes from me then drove it back to CA. So, now I'm returning the favor and buying a ride from him and driving it back to Alabama! The defender he has is really nice. Very clean and sound. These things go for quite a bit of money.

Damn, Jeff, that a LOT of road miles! Safe travels. And seeing as NJ is NO WHERE near any possible Nv to Al route, I won't even ask! hahaha

Mrs Shotty - I checked out the photos - looks like a great time - I hope you tipped a cold one for me!

LOL I did hear a few bottles clinking while sitting around the fire! :D

It's Wednesday and I'm sitting here at work wishing I was back at Stubblefield enjoying the woods and fire instead of working! Oh well, at least tomorrow is payday. I've been thinking of picking up some more toys...

I'm with ya there, Rod -- I see an ESEE pack kit in my near future, and maybe an advanced survival kit, Junglas or machete, etc...

fixed it for ya! :D

hahahaha....i thought you were covering that fact up for me? some minion you turned out to be!

Dadgummit! I can't believe it's taken me this long to post in this thread. I'm still really bummed out that i had to miss the gathering because I was working in stinkin' Minneapolis. Especially because it rained the whole friggin' week and I caught a cold. :grumpy:

It looks like everyone had a good time... and that makes me ultra-jealous. :(

My one big question is did anybody take my place in the penguin hunt or fishing for octopus? I might cry if so.

Richard

yup - we grabbed a total stranger off the side of the road and used him - gave him your spot by the fire, fed him, etc...
smoked octopus tentacle over the fatwood bonfire and roasted penguins in the coals.
shame you were in Mn - it was warm and sunny all weekend.
